Infant Mortality Prevention Education Program

The Infant Mortality Prevention Education Program (IMPEP) was not refunded
following its 6th year of funding from the Department of Family & Protective
Services. The SBA receives an increasing number of requests for SIDS and
Shaken Baby training because of the recently enacted educational requirements in
child care and hospital settings throughout the state of Texas. As a result, the
Shaken Baby Alliance will continue to offer the training (in either a Train the
Trainer or Community format) to programs that are willing to serve as a “Host
Agency”. Host agencies are responsible for securing a training location, advertising
the training and accepting registration from participants. The host agency would
also be responsible for covering the travel cost for 2 Trainers. For additional
